The Museum of the Goldfields and Hannans North Mine were both very
interesting and informative about the gold rush on the goldfields and the miner's hard life.
Late that evening we went to another place that told us about a chapter of the Goldfields history which were not that well covered by the museum and old mine; we went to have a tour of one of the brothels in Kalgoorlie. Mary Anne, the madam herself, showed us around for more than one hour. She had just completely rebuild the place for over 2 million dollar and the result was impressive. Most rooms had been dedicated to one of the major nationalities of girls that were 'sent out' to the goldfields to satisfy the hard working men's needs when they once every three months had a day off. Other rooms represented some kind of a theme - guess which sport the room in the below left picture refers to :-)
