June 11th: Kangaroo Island
Baby sea lion The clouds over Kangaroo Island had disappeared, so we where not sure whether to stay one day as planned or to continue flying. After much thinking (the time had passed 10:30 by now) Young sea lion boys having a fight while the girls sleep we decided to rent a car and take a closer inspection of the island. That was a good decision. Especially because the weather was even better the following day.

First we went to Seal Bay, a protected beach where a large group (approx 300) of sea lions live and breed. Road in Flinders Chase National Park

After having enjoyed watching the young male sea lions fight and having admired the cute Remarkable Rocks little baby sea lions that had to entertain themselves while mum was away for three days to feed on fish, we had lunch and continued to Flinders Chase National Park.

One of the main attractions (besides all the birds and kangaroos) are the Remarkable Rocks, and they were indeed remarkable. A large group of sculptural rocks that look as though they have been cut out by an artist and placed on a round plate of rock surrounded by a carpet of green vegetation.

Another attraction of Flinders Chase NP is the huge Admirals Arch under which a large colony of fur seals live.
